O presidente eleito Jair Bolsonaro anunciou nesta terça-feira (13), por meio das redes sociais, o nome do general de Exército Fernando Azevedo e Silva para o cargo de ministro da Defesa.

A pasta seria ocupada inicialmente pelo general Augusto Heleno.

Há uma semana, no entanto, Bolsonaro confirmou o nome de Augusto Heleno para o Gabinete de Segurança Institucional.

Azevedo e Silva foi chefe do Estado Maior do Exército e comandante da Brigada Paraquedista antes de ir para a reserva.
